The 1st XV have revealed their new home and away kit, with an update on the classic black, white and red from last season.
With only a few days until the first game of the new season, which is a home game on September 3 against rivals Heath RFC, the new kit features a sleek and updated design for the 1st XV home and away jerseys.
The new kit also features the key sponsors for IRFC, Airedale Chemical and Smartsearch on both the jerseys and shorts too.
The rugby club released the new look via social channels with a video that has fans excited for the season ahead.
The 1st XV are racing back into rugby from a successful season in 2021/22 where they won their league and have been promoted to Regional One North East, Northern Division 2022/23 which sees new opponents such as Doncaster Phoenix that the Ilkley players are eager to face.
1st XV Captain, Joe Lowes, said this about their new look:
“We love our new kit and are excited to kick off the season on September 3rd at Home with our fresh new jerseys.
Pre-season training and preparations are going well and we’re eager to get stuck in and show this new league what we’re made of. Our influx of new players and our mindset this season means we’re more prepared than ever and we’re super excited to get back out on the pitch.”
The IRFC 2nd XV also had a fantastic season in 2021/22 having won their league as well. Thanks to some excellent planning, the upcoming season will see the 1st and 2nd XV playing many of the same opponents throughout the year which will mean easier transport for supporters and double the dose of rugby.
