We're very proud to announce that our senior players Max Jones, Ollie Ham and Ben Walker have been selected to play for Yorkshire U20's against Cheshire U20s this Sunday in Sandbach.
Max Jones starts in the back row and as Captain for the U20s Squad with Ollie Ham starting Prop and Ben Walker on the bench in the backs.
As a club we are immensely proud of the three lads and their progress within the Ilkley senior squads.
Joe Lowes caught up with the lads who had this to say:
"It’s an honour to not only represent but to captain my county this Sunday against Cheshire in our first game of the U20s Jason Leonard Trophy, big thank you to Ilkley Rugby Club and everyone involved in me getting to this stage in my rugby career and huge congratulations to my teammates Oliver Ham and Ben Walker who will be joining along side me in this Sundays Battle." - Max Jones
"I’m delighted to be representing Yorkshire in this weekends fixture with Cheshire. I feel like my game has improved this season with more 1st team rugby and a lot of that has to be credited to the coaching and support of the team here at Ilkley. Hopefully we’ll have success in the U20’s county championship and make the Ilkley boys proud." - Ollie Ham

This season I feel like I’ve really improved my rugby and felt incredibly welcome here and have thoroughly enjoyed my time at Ilkley and hope to do everyone proud." - Ben Walker
All three lads have made a considerable impact into every game they play and have flourished in recent years. Being selected for Yorkshire is no mean feat and representing your county is an honour that we know the three lads will relish come Sunday.
The U20s Match will be played down in Sandbach KO TBC on Sunday 26th February.
