The Ilkley Rugby Club senior teams had a great pre-season friendly match with Manchester Rugby Club on 13th August and although losing 43-54 it was a wall played game with lots of learning points for the new season.
Ilkley Rugby club and Manchester Rugby Club organised a pre-season friendly as both teams are advancing to their next divisions and it was a great opportunity to test out new players, tactics and processes.
The match on Saturday was very hot, around 26-30 degrees so there were lots of water breaks and changes to the squad.
After three thirds of great rugby with rolling subs to test out 1st and 2nd XV players, Manchester came away with the win but not without many points and an epic comeback.
